5 Hours & 5 Days a Week.

Let that be the Working Hours for all.

Wherever you are. Whatever the Job  !!

Should we have to ‘slog’ for 8 and more hours in order to make a living during these advanced times ?

When the Grinder Mixer and Washing Machine were introduced in the market – it took away lots of tiring manual work from housewife – they got more ‘free time’ and relief from kitchen so as to enjoy a relaxed life.  Similarly when we use a scissor to cut something we use it as a tool to save our time and energy; same is the case with Automobiles because we stopped walking after motor vehicles are invented.  

Introduction of Computers..and now Computerised Robots with Artificial Intelligence;  all over is making people out of job and soon there will be chaos of unemployment.  Implementation of technological advances is for the purpose of making our life less laborious because we, the human beings, tend to act to achieve pleasure and happiness.

Why not then, when Computers or Robots or Artificial Inteligence Gadgets are introduced, the working hours of employees not reduced considerably ? Instead, the System and its Proprietors took advantage and began replacing workers itself ! Here is a clear case of ‘abuse of technological advancement’  (similar to creation of Atom bombs whereas Nuclear energy could have diverted to eliminate energy problems). We need to ask – what are Computers and Robots  for ? To be used as a tool (like a calculator) or to put in competition with human beings (one recent distortion is the chess match between man v/s machine) so that employees are retrenched step by step.  A clever game plan of the minority rich in collusion with money making machinery and their institutions because Computers and Robots  will never ask for a pay raise and bonus but will go to work by the press of a button !

If this process, continues by end 2025 a majority of people will be jobless. Result of educated being UNEMPLOYED become  a reality  within the  next few years.

It is high time society is waken up to the fact.  The subject needs deep analysis and discussion rather than the boycott call of Computers or Robots, by Trade Unions which is childish. 

Who is to blame ? The Computers /  Robots  or the Inventors or the System that abuse both ?

While the fact is that we, the human beings, have acquired enough knowledge and technology as well as adequate resources abundantly all over so that all its inhabitants can comfortably co-exist with Food, Shelter and good living conditions – only if this competition to acquire wealth is removed from our heads. (Let us leave the job of collecting data to this effect to somebody more expert).

In order to clarify ourselves, we need to expose the ‘Universal Lies’ spread by a wicked system to supplement slavery; viz.,

(a)    You have to work to eat

(b)    Eat from your sweat

(c)     Work is worship

(d)    One’s decay is another’s food

(e)    It is natural to exploit

(f)      The big should eat the small to survive

(g)    Population is reason for poverty

Well,  there are hundreds  of such mental blocks injected in to our mind by cunning people.  We need to critically criticise and if need be question such established myths and reason-out ourselves so as to be free from such mind locks.

Perhaps we need to replace the old fashioned and out of date slogan (ie., right to work) with a new humanist slogan viz., Right to Decent Living with Dignity (irrespective of any job) because it is our moral right just because we are born ! This moral authority is stemmed from the fact that evolution of humanity to present stage is due to collective contribution and continued work of many great minds of the past, present and future.

So my dear friends – to start with – let us now stand up and demand : 5 Hours and 5 Day week work schedule everywhere – to begin with.  Imagine about all those beautiful things you can do in a day if you reach home before 5pm.

TAIL  PIECE

After the Covid Pandemic and Relaxation of Lockdowns  let us thank  this VIRUS OF VIRUS  for giving us this opportunity to enjoy of our ‘ free times ‘  for so many months continuously…even though we are scared.  May be for the workaholics…these period could have been boring but for the creative minds it was a time for pondering over the Life … analysing and planning.  Remember, only during our childhood days we used to get two months  Vacation Holidays.

After enjoying the FREE TIME and the relaxed pace of life; let us think…. Can we continue to enjoy this happiness of Life… Definitely not if we are put into the same work schedules by the Business System directed towards making money and more money using Human Beings as Slaves and Slaves… without their knowledge.
